Charlie specializes in industrial commercial real estate with a primary focus on the I-275 South Corridor, serving clients throughout Canton, Van Buren Township, and Taylor. As a member of Signature’s industrial team, he works closely with owners, tenants, investors, and developers to help them achieve their commercial real estate objectives through strategic market insight and personalized service.

Charlie’s interest in commercial real estate began at an early age, inspired by his family’s long history of business ownership and real estate investment. While working for his uncle, Paul LaFontaine, at Imlay City Ford, he gained firsthand experience with commercial property ownership and business operations. His late grandfather, Paul LaFontaine Sr., along with his uncle, Paul LaFontaine Jr., who continues to own and operate the dealership today, developed and managed several commercial real estate holdings in the community. Their entrepreneurial spirit and success sparked Charlie’s passion for the industry and continue to influence his approach to serving clients.

Before joining Signature Associates, Charlie spent more than four years in business development and recruiting, building strong client relationships and delivering strategic staffing solutions for companies across the automotive, aerospace, and manufacturing sectors. This experience strengthened his consultative approach, negotiation skills, and commitment to understanding each client’s unique business needs.

Outside of work, Charlie enjoys spending time with his wife, stepson, and daughter. An avid golfer, and also enjoys pickleball, swimming, and traveling. His family especially loves visiting Northern Michigan, where they spend time in Petoskey, Harbor Springs, and Boyne City enjoying the beaches, miniature golf, local shops, and making lasting memories together.
