Signature Associates’ Greg Hudas and Joe Hamway are proud to have been a part of this deal.

Dana Thermal Products, a subsidiary of Dana Incorporated, a global leader in thermal management technologies for the mobility industry, has announced its intentions to utilize 346,182 square feet of vacant space within the former George P. Johnson building located at 3600 Giddings Road. Dana plans to lease the facility and invest $44 million to support a new battery cooling plate manufacturing operation. The company anticipates production to begin next year.  The investment is expected to create 200 jobs.

Dana’s battery cooling plate is built with lightweight aluminum, stabilizes battery cell temperature, and provides optimal temperature uniformity. Featuring counterflow and double-side cell loading designs, the cooling plate technology extracts heat from the lithium-ion battery cells and enables fast charging.

Dana provides various thermal management technologies to global automakers, including batteries, cold plates, and power electronics. The company anticipates that one of its most significant opportunities for growth is within the electrification market and is investing to position itself as a leader in electric vehicle technologies as its core customers and markets are making the shift.
