Motorsports-themed Restaurant and Event Space Coming to Pontiac’s M1 Concourse

The M1 Concourse in Pontiac will break ground on a 28,500-square-foot Event Center and Restaurant facility, slated to be completed in September 2021.

The project will break ground at a private ceremony on Sept. 1, and the completed building will be located immediately adjacent to the Champion Motor Speedway along Pit Lane. The center will be open to the public and host events such as vehicle launches, charitable event galas, fashion and lifestyle showcases, and automotive and technology expositions.

The motorsports themed restaurant will occupy two stories and feature indoor and outdoor seating, two full-service bars, and an upper level deck offering views of the speedway. A sealed cigar lounge also is planned for the upper level of the restaurant.

The event center will include a 6,325-square-foot ballroom that that will feature views of the speedway and can be broken up into three smaller spaces. It also will include a 2,281-square-foot lobby that will offer audio and video capabilities. The event space can host up to 500 individuals and will include a full-service kitchen for events and restaurant dining.

M1 is in the process of identifying a local restaurateur partner that will lead the dining experience and the restaurant. The building will also include an M1 Concourse gift shop. Access to the facility will be located off Woodward Avenue and South Boulevard.

The M1 Concourse is located on the site of the former General Motors manufacturing facility. Since its groundbreaking in 2015, it has become the largest private garage community in the world. It hosts public events throughout the year including Cars and Coffee car shows, Open Track Days, and Roadkill Nights presented by Motor Trend and Dodge.

Upon completion of the fourth phase of garage construction in spring 2021, there will be more than 250 secure private garages that allow for flexible storage and entertainment space.

The Champion Motor Speedway is a 1.5-mile performance track with its own private Motorsports Club. For automotive suppliers, distributors, and dealers, the performance track is ideal for marketing events, trainings, ride-n-drives, and vehicle delivery experiences. Industries outside the automotive sector can also provide client events with driving experiences offered by professional drivers.

“We are thrilled to embark on this new chapter of our development,” says Jordan Zlotoff, CEO of M1. “Our new dining and entertainment amenities will allow us to offer the world-class experiences and events that our clients deserve. Combined with our motorsports capabilities, M1 Concourse will become one of the most unique automotive and entertainment venues in the country.”

The anticipated opening of the new facility will coincide with the Inaugural American Festival of Speed and Checkered Flag Ball presented by Pontiac Motorsports Exposition.

The M1 Concourse spans 87 acres.
