Signature Associates is pleased to announce the sale of former Detroit Armory site located at 15000 Eight Mile Road in Oak Park, Michigan.  Paul Hoge and Gary Stephens of Signature Associates represented the seller of the land, Schostak Bros. & Co. and brought the new tenant, Tire Wholesalers, Inc. to the site.

The new developer, The Opus Group, is constructing a 275,000 square foot building on the approximately 17-acre site and expected completion is December 2022.  Tire Wholesalers, Inc. is leasing the entire building and moving from their Troy headquarters located at 1783 14 Mile Road.  This exciting move with double the company’s current square footage and allow them to integrate new technology and operate more efficiently.

The historic site has had many lives and has been considered a high redevelopment priority for the City of Oak Park for many years now.

“To have the former Detroit Artillery Armory site fully leased and built out is a long-term dream I am beyond excited to see realized,” Oak Park City Manager Erik Tungate said in a press release. “This will provide new job opportunities for our residents and an additional tax base for the City of Oak Park. Businesses that embrace advanced and modern technology and operational approaches are welcome in Oak Park, and this new development exemplifies what we look for as we continue to move down our path of excellence.”
