Retail giant takes space in industrial park in Harper Woods, Michigan

Walmart signed a lease for 44,555 square feet at Eastland Commerce Center in Harper Woods, Michigan.

The industrial property at 18300 Vernier Road is owned by NorthPoint Development, a Kansas City, Missouri-based industrial developer.

Eastland Commerce Center’s Building 3 totals 208,204 square feet and was completed in 2024. The single-story concrete tilt-up structure features 36-foot clear heights, 28 loading docks and 285 parking spaces.

The broader Eastland Commerce Center development consists of three warehouses totaling just over 1 million square feet, built on the site of the demolished Eastland Center mall at Eight Mile and Vernier Road.

NorthPoint acquired the 83-acre former mall property and invested $135 million in the speculative redevelopment.
