After more than two decades, Bosna Express in Wyoming is closing its doors.

The family-owned restaurant on 28th Street SW near Buchanan Avenue SW announced its closure Monday evening in a social media post, saying it was time to retire and thanking the community for the support. Bosna Express served authentic Bosnian cuisine, according to its website, with offerings like gyros, shish kebabs and lepinja.

The family confirmed that its other restaurant, Zivio on Wealthy Street SE in Grand Rapids, will remain open.

Meanwhile, the 2,460-square-foot building on 28th Street has been sold. It was initially listed for sale about a year ago by commercial real estate firm Signature Associates. The sale closed Tuesday, according to Joe Rizqallah, vice president of retail and principal for Signature Associates.

The building will remain a restaurant, Rizqallah wrote in an email to News 8, describing it as a “new concept that will bring new flavors and menu items to the growing community of Wyoming.”

Any Bosna Express gift cards will be honored at Zivio, according to the family.
